Meet Our Clinical Director, Andi Raine

Andi has been attending births as a primary midwife since 2003. She has attended over seven hundred births in an out-of-hospital setting. As a mother of four children, she understands the importance of feeling safe, comforted, and supported during the birth of your child. Her philosophy of childbirth is that it is a cornerstone of a woman’s life and that every mother deserves respectful and evidence-based care at all times. She believes in creating the optimal environment for hormonal support of safe birth that allows the normal physiological birth process to unfold. It means that mother and baby are treated as one unit, and that newborns receive immediate skin to skin care allowing for full cord blood transfusion through optimal cord clamping.

“My first goal is safety for mother and baby, and that goal can be accomplished in most cases by respecting the natural process of this life cycle.”

She is a primary maternity care provider and a licensed midwife in Wisconsin for pregnant women, postpartum women up to 6 weeks, and newborns up to 6 weeks. She lives with her husband and children in Appleton and enjoys gardening. She is also an administrator and owner of a local Preschool when she is not busy caring for expectant families.
